Graceway Pharmaceuticals, through an initiative at the 2009 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) annual meeting, raised funds for AAD Camp Discovery, a camp founded by dermatologists for children with serious skin diseases.
The company made a $10 donation to the camp for every registered attendee who visited the Graceway booth at AAD. Visitors were asked to participate in a booth activity, which resulted in a donation.
About AAD Camp Discovery
AAD Camp Discovery was founded in 1993 by dermatologists to provide children with serious skin diseases an opportunity to experience a full range of summer camp activities under the expert care of dermatologists and nurses. Many of these children cannot attend other summer camps due to physical and financial limitations or the fear of being rejected because of their appearance.
By participating in arts and crafts, sports, and social activities, campers build self-esteem, confidence, and develop a new outlook on life. Attendance at AAD Camp Discovery is funded by contributions received from AAD members, industry partners, organizations, and other individuals. All expenses, including transportation, are paid for by the American Academy of Dermatology.
